Cold Brew Book Reviews

When Life Gives You Lululemons

4 min read

Welcome to Greenwich, Connecticut, where the workout pants are tight and the lips are loose. Women here are portrayed as bored housewives who have sex toy parties and drink alcohol before noon daily. Basically the reader is not supposed to like 99% of these Connecticut moms, with the exception being Miriam, who just moved into the neighborhood, and Karolina, who was just forced there by her cheating husband. If you have read the Devil Wears Prada novels, you will recognize Emily who used to work for Miranda Priestly in New York City.

Final Girls

4 min read

Beware! Final Girls is a scary read that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time and maybe awake at night. You will try to untangle the webs that Riley Sager spins throughout his narrative, but I’m not sure you will make it out in time. Sager is a brilliant horror writer. All of his descriptions drip with murderous imagery, so if that gives you the chills this might be for you; if that makes you squirm in your seat, you might want to skip this one.

August Review

My first month as a book reviewer and blogger has come and gone, and I have read a record number of books this month. I even reached my original goal of reading 30 books the year I turn 30, so naturally instead I upped my goal to 50 books for this year. If I continue the way I did this month, I will hit that new goal before October is over.

Well Met

I do not give any clear spoilers in this review, but in order to speak freely about some of my criticisms of Well Met I have to speak about some of the obvious plot points. I stand behind that everything spoken about in my review can be found on the inside jacket description and online description of the book. That being said, this is not a flattering review of this book.
