The Flatshare

3 min read

Tiffy needs a place to live after her ex-boyfriend left her and became engaged to another woman before Tiffy could even move out of their shared apartment. Leon needs extra cash and just so happens to work a graveyard shift. Tiffy takes the flat (aka ‘apartment’ if you live in the US) during the nights, and while she works during the day Leon sleeps in the flat. On the weekends, Leon is away at his jealous girlfriend’s flat, who demands that she manages the flatshare so that Leon never has to have contact with Tiffy.

American Royals

3 min read

What would the United States be like if we were a monarchy? This is the book that puts that to the test as it follows the present day American royal family, the Washingtons. Yes, that is right. General George Washington became America’s first king after the Revolutionary War. King George IV and Queen Adelaide have three children, Princess Beatrice (the next in line for the throne GIRL POWER!) and twins, Princess Samantha and Prince Jefferson.

Cupid's Match

3 min read

Cupid’s Match is about, well, Cupid’s Match. Cupid is a character that actually exists in this book. Cupids are also a fantasy race in this book. Cupids are made from certain types of arrows, and after this happens a cupid must devote their immortal lives to matching humans for love. The catch is that cupids cannot be matched or something terrible will happen for the cupids and all of humankind. This book is about what happens when the original cupid, Cupid himself, is matched with a seventeen-year-old human.

The Light We Lost

The Light We Lost has some very interesting concepts and themes. I chose this book because it is based on the most historical event of my life, September 11, 2001. I am fascinated with 9⁄11 because I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I found out about those planes on that day. I was in sixth grade, and I was in the school library because it was school picture day.

Well Met

I do not give any clear spoilers in this review, but in order to speak freely about some of my criticisms of Well Met I have to speak about some of the obvious plot points. I stand behind that everything spoken about in my review can be found on the inside jacket description and online description of the book. That being said, this is not a flattering review of this book.

Things You Save in a Fire

One of these days I am going to review a book that did not receive five stars from me. At least once I am going to have some not-so-nice things to say about a book. Today is not that day. I am very lucky that the last three books I have read have all been 5-star reads for me because I am a harsh book critic. So here is another book that you must read, according to me.
